Satellite Exhibition
In collaboration with Rise Art, Odyssey Films presents Satellites, a visual reflection on the gravitational bonds between artist and artwork, and between works themselves. Created for Rise Art’s Soho gallery, this film captures the nuanced interplay of form, scale, and style in a unique group exhibition featuring ten leading contemporary artists.
As the camera moves through the gallery, we witness ten primary artworks—each bold and distinct in their creators’ signature styles—paired with ten “satellite” pieces. The dialogue between them is subtle yet profound: contrasting in scale, diverging in medium, but orbiting one another in quiet, intentional conversation.
Through elegant cinematography and measured pacing, the film explores the central idea that no creation exists in isolation. Just as a satellite depends on its central body, each artwork retains an invisible tether to its maker, continuing to evolve through its proximity to both creator and companion piece.
Featuring works by Day Bowman, Gavin Dobson, Seçil Erel, Niki Hare, Fred Ingrams, Sonia Martin, Gina Parr, Guy Shoham, Clare Thatcher, and Paul Treasure, Satellites is more than an exhibition film—it’s a meditation on the enduring relationships that shape the life of art beyond the studio.
